Search the indexed repositories for the symbols and snippets the strand names, and return each hit as a passage pinned to its file path, line range and commit.
used in 1 blueprint
Specification
125 words · handed to the agentSearch the indexed repositories for the symbols, paths and language filters named in the code strand you are given on query, and keep at most twenty hits. Emit each hit on passages as a snippet with six lines of context either side of the match, pinned to its repository, file path, line range and the commit sha the file was read at. Include matches under test directories: a test is often the clearest statement of what the code is meant to do. Check nothing out, run nothing, and write nothing back, the index is read-only, and the commit sha is what keeps a hit resolvable after the branch has moved on. You are done when every match you kept carries all five of those coordinates.

Dependencies
1The upstream nodes this card expects to receive from. Whenever a blueprint pins this card, each name is checked against a real edge in that graph. A name without a link is not a published card; it refers to a node inside some graph.

- Read-only, and pinned: every hit names the commit it came from, so a claim grounded in code still resolves after the branch has moved on. Nothing is checked out and nothing is written.

A digest is a fingerprint (SHA-256) of the card's content, computed without the author and provenance fields. The same card from two people gets the same digest; any edit gets a new one.
First published version, so there is nothing to compare yet. Versions are never edited in place: the next change arrives as a new version, and the differences between the two documents are listed here.
